BABYMONSTER’s Asa Stuns Fans with Education Confession: “I Only Graduated Kindergarten”

On the July 6 episode of SBS’s variety show Running Man, BABYMONSTER’s Asa appeared alongside fellow member Ahyeon and actress Joo Hyun-young as special guests. During the episode, host Yoo Jae-suk asked about Asa’s background and time spent in Korea. Asa replied, “My real name is Enami Asa. I’ve been in Korea for six years.”

When actor Choi Daniel followed up by asking if she completed elementary, middle, and high school in Korea, Asa stunned the cast by responding, “I’m a kindergarten graduate. I started training while attending elementary school.”
Her candid response surprised viewers, with many expressing admiration for her dedication to her dream from such a young age.

Born in Japan, Asa began dreaming of becoming a singer in second grade and joined a dance academy. She passed YG Japan’s audition in 2018, becoming a full-time trainee. Though she was initially eliminated during Last Evaluation, she ultimately debuted after YG founder Yang Hyun-suk reconsidered the fan sentiment.
BABYMONSTER recently returned on July 1 with the dance track “Hot Sauce,” a reinterpretation of 1980s old-school hip-hop, showcasing their bold concept and powerful performance skills.
